2-Stroke Mechanic

Full Job Description

 

LB Scooters is a small startup that is on the front edge for providing a cool, vintage, classic and modern two-wheeled rental experience to those in the Long Beach area that is delivered with a high level of customer service while on reliable rental equipment. Our current rental fleet consists of Vespa’s and vintage mopeds. In addition to renting equipment, we also offer to sell and repair the same type of equipment to a small select customer base.

Position Type: Part-Time / Independent-Contractor
Starting Wage: $150-$225 Day Rate / BOE

Essential Functions:

​

  • Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.

  • Inspect and monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment, detect, and correct unsafe conditions.

  • Inspect, test, and measure completed work, using devices such as hand tools and gauges to verify conformance to standards and repair requirements.

  • Perform skilled repair and maintenance operations, using equipment such as hand and power tools.

  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions

  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.

  • Rebuild a motor top end, bottom end, brakes, tires, tire spokes, carburetors, pistons, etc.

Physical and Mental Criteria Requirements:

​

  • Must be able to work under pressure and occasional stressful conditions.

  • Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility to changing priorities, deadlines, demands and assignments while maintaining cohesive and harmonious working relationships.

  • Must be able to research information in order to resolve problems; identify issues requiring further attention; corrections and/or make recommendations.

  • Then take preventive actions; process facts and apply judgments; communicate with others to provide or obtain information.

  • Must be able to work in an environment with loud noises, heat, cold and strong odors.

  • Perform receptive key stokes to compile and prepare documents, reports, forms and correspondence.

  • Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours.

  • Some heavy lifting required, up to 50 lbs.

  • Push/Pull; use both hands to package product, repetitive work.

  • Ability to perform repetitive manual material handling without restriction, requiring (but not limited to) the following physical abilities: Kneeling, Crouching, Reaching, Standing, Pushing/ Pulling, Grasping

 

 

 

Education and Qualifications:
 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Speaks, Reads, & Writes English

  • EETC Certifications (Certified Two-Stroke Mechanic). *Or 4 years + combination of education and/or experience gaining knowledge. Must pass certification test within 3 month provided by the company.
